The William Tucker 1624 Society is hosting its first annual Scholarship Fundraiser, “A Jazz Night Out” on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Commanding General’s Residence and Gardens on Fort Monroe, as part of our African Landing Day Weekend events. The event will feature local jazz band, RAJazz, and will include complementary light hors de ’oeuvres.

All proceeds will go directly to scholarships for deserving students in Hampton City Public Schools. This year, two scholarships were awarded to two deserving seniors. We will be recognizing both of our scholarship winners at the event. Your donation will bring us one step closer to meeting our goal of distributing $10,000 in scholarships in 2023.

The William Tucker 1624 Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is an organization dedicated to the education of the greater public about the first Africans to arrive in Virginia.
